Born, raised, butchered and aged.
Celebrate Heatherlea’s Grand Opening.
CALEDON, March 26, 2016 – Heatherlea Farm Shoppe, a farm-gate store with a mission to raise and craft the highest quality artisan foods, has opened their new store at the farm. Heatherlea invites the community to join the celebration by attending the Grand Opening Event on Sunday, April 3rd, 2016 from 12 – 4 P.M. at 17049 Winston Churchill Boulevard, Caledon, ON.
The event will begin with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 12 P.M. to mark the official opening of the butcher shoppe and café. Following the ceremony, there will be house-made food, beverages, and music inside the store. This is a great chance to see the new facility and all that it has to offer to the community from local producers and farmers. Meet Chef and Head Butcher, Jason Cooney, to chat about everything meat, from selecting cuts to preparation and serving. You may bump into farmer and owner, Gord McArthur, who loves to chat about farming with customers. He can fill you in on all the details and questions you may have about his pasture-raised Angus herd and his new venture with chickens.
If you have a passion for amazing food, be sure to stop by for delicious tastings throughout the store. There will be samples from the new café and catering menus for you to enjoy. Owner, Pat McArthur will be there to assist you with catering questions for your upcoming events this spring and summer. There are also fabulous samples from some of the local producers.
Heatherlea is very excited to announce that they offer cooking classes and workshops this spring. This Sunday offers a great chance to select a class and register early. Before leaving the store, be sure to draw for the chance to win gifts and discounts on your purchase!
Heatherlea began in 2009 as a farm-gate store to market their grass-fed black Angus beef to the surrounding community, but today it’s grown beyond their wildest dreams to encompass the wants and needs of their wonderful customers. The store offers a wide selection of fresh and frozen local meats including Angus beef, chicken, pork, lamb, bison, emu, Tamworth/Berkshire pork, fish, and seafood. Browse the shop for local eggs, milk, cheese, produce and fine pantry foods. You can also grab a bite to eat along with a delicious treat and coffee.
The addition of the café and butcher shoppe creates a truly unique farm-to-fork experience. Be sure to watch for upcoming, foodie-loving additions such as custom aged beef (beyond 3 weeks). They are also part of the first farmers to be producing meat chickens under the brand-new Artisanal Chicken Program. The first of their chickens will be available in the butcher shoppe around mid-May.
